About the Role
We are looking for a Product Development professional to lead the design and development of
sub-assemblies derived from core components, focused on aftermarket applications. The role
involves end-to-end ownership—from concept and engineering design to validation, cost
optimization, and lifecycle management.
Job Description
- Product Strategy: Identify opportunities to develop sub-assemblies
using existing core components.
- Concept Development: Define product concepts, specifications, and
functional requirements.
- Design & Validation: Design and validate sub-assemblies for
performance, durability, and cost efficiency.
- Compatibility: Ensure compatibility across multiple platforms and
applications.
- Documentation: Prepare engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical
documentation.
- Testing: Coordinate prototyping, testing, and validation activities.
- Improvement: Drive improvements based on field feedback and cost
targets.
- Collaboration: Work with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and
Sales teams.
- Vendor Support: Support vendor development and sourcing decisions.
- Cost Optimization: Drive value engineering and cost optimization
initiatives.
- Lifecycle Management: Manage product lifecycle including upgrades and
obsolescence.
Technical Knowledge Required
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Experience with assemblies and sub-assemblies development
- Understanding of validation and quality tools (FMEA, APQP, PPAP)
- Familiarity with CAD tools and engineering documentation
Experience Required
- 4–7 years of experience in the following:
- Product development or design engineering
- Automotive, aftermarket, or industrial product development
- Sub-assembly or modular product development (preferred)
